Our History

DBO was founded on 2010 in Bogota by Erick Kam Díaz, a lawyer committed to leaving a mark in Colombia through the exercise of his profession. After 10 years of work experience, he decided to take on a new and impassioning challenge and put all his knowledge, talent and dedication as a lawyer, counsellor, consultant, litigator and negotiator in the areas of Labor, Civil, Commercial, Sanctions and Business Law at the service of his clients, always providing a personalized attention of great quality and the highest level of commitment.

In 2015 a new partner was brought on-board, Felipe Ortiz, a professional expert in Corporate and Tax Law, Foreign Investment Management and Estate Planning. Thus, the firm expanded its portfolio of professional services in order to consolidate and position itself as one of Colombia’s best boutique law firms.

Founding partner of Díaz Bradford Ortiz firm, a Lawyer graduated from Universidad Externado de Colombia, a specialist in Business Law from the aforementioned university and a specialist from the Post-Graduate Program in Labor Law of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana of Bogotá, with an outstanding experience as a lawyer, counsellor, consultant, litigator and negotiator in the areas of Labor, Civil, Commercial, Sanctions and Business Law. He has worked as an associate attorney at the firm Hercon Ltda. Asesores Jurídicos y Financieros, Director of the Labor Law and Litigation area of the firm Gutiérrez y Ruiz Abogados Consultores, and as a Consulting partner and litigator at the firm DBO Firm.

FELIPE ORTIZ BELTRÁN


A lawyer graduated from Universidad Externado de Colombia, specialist in Commercial Law from Universidad de Los Andes, graduated from the International Law Institute (ILI) of Georgetown University – Washington, D.C., Legal English, and specialist in Tax Law from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana of Bogota. He has worked as an attorney at Archila Abogados and Asobolsa, as an ad-hoc auxiliary clerk at the Civil Chamber of the Tribunal Superior Court off Appeals of Bogota; as Senior Attorney of the Corporate and Tax Team at Pinzón Pinzón & Asociados S.A., and as a partner at the DBO firm.
